Sirmaur

Sirmaur is the most south-eastern district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is largely mountainous and rural, with 90% of its population living in villages.The once famous town Sirmaur is located at a distance of about 16 Km northwest of Paonta Sahib on the right bank of the river Gin. The town was destroyed in the eleventh century. The ruins of its wells and Bazaars can still be seen and close to them, is a tank, called the Sirmaur Tal.
